Our club was founded in 1956 by dog owners who were training together and enjoyed “talking dog.” The founders of the Woodstock Dog Club hoped to further the advancement of all purebred dogs through education, public engagement, and personal practices of the club members. Today’s members carry on that goal.

The first Woodstock Dog Club AKC show was in 1958. This show in conjunction with our sister club, Green Mountain Dog Club, is one of the most anticipated summer events. Held in a river valley of the beautiful Green Mountains on the grounds of the Tunbridge World Fairgrounds, this show enjoys entries of 700-1000 from all over the Eastern Seaboard and Canada. Our emphasis is on contracting with good judges, maintaining an efficient, supportive and friendly atmosphere, and encouraging good sportsmanship among all participants.
