Our annual American Kennel Club (AKC) All Breed Dog Show will be July 11 - 14, 2024 at the spectacular Tunbridge Fairgrounds. Green Mountain Dog Club will be hosting the show on July 13-14. Lakes Region Kennel Club will be joining us again in July 2024 to host Scent Work Trials. We expect about 100 different breeds with 700 to 1000 entries each day. Owners and professional handlers come from all over the US and Canada with many local dog fanciers as well.  Our renowned judges come from all over the country and internationally to judge at our shows.

A dog show is where dogs compete against each other and are judged based on the breed ‘standard’. The dog that wins ‘Best of Breed’ will then compete in their respective Group (Hound, Toy, Sporting, etc.). Winners from each Group will then compete for Best in Show! Breed judging is usually completed by 2pm when the Group judging will begin followed by Best in Show.

Over the 4 days, there will be 4 All Breed Conformation Dog Shows, 4 Obedience, 4 Rally Trials and Scent Work. There will also be a 4–6 month old Puppy competition and on Friday, a Best 6-12 month old Puppy competition. Best Veteran competition will be Saturday.

What does all this mean? We invite you to attend any day with complimentary entrance fee on Thursday and Friday.  Judging starts at 8:30 a.m. all days.  Come see your favorite breeds and meet new breeds! Talk to dog fanciers and learn about the sport of dog showing, obedience and rally trials. Vendors will be on hand with dog and human related items.

The Woodstock Dog Club has been a member of AKC since 1957. We hold monthly meetings with speakers and presentations of interest to our members. Most recently, we learned about AKC Scent work, the newest addition to Performance Events. We also had one of the Vermont State Police K9 teams come talk to us about how the dogs are trained and what they do to help the VSP officers. Annually, we hold health testing clinics for all dogs.

Hope to see you at the show!
